Former freelance newspaper and magazine journalist and photojournalist working worldwide on stories about people and places.
Today, I use documentary, fine art and archival photography to illuminate hidden, forgotten, overlooked or unseen stories and voices. I work long-term alongside women survivors of war and displacement, and with North Sea stories of memory and family.
Solo and collaborative bodies of work are published and exhibited internationally.
In 2024, I formalised my creative practice by gaining a PhD in Media, following a four-year studentship awarded by the North of England Arts and Humanities Consortium.
Born in Hull, I live in East Yorkshire.
I work on photography commissions, visual arts projects, community and cultural engagement, co-creation and academic research. Available for mentoring, consultancy, talks and workshops.
